“Simcoe Contemporary Dancers (SCD) is a not-for-profit professional company by and for the region of Simcoe County that exists to encourage and showcase the development of local professional contemporary dance. We come together to raise the visibility of contemporary dance, create awareness, build educational opportunities, and reach out to our public to share our love of our art form. SCD is thrilled to be entering their 10th Year Anniversary Season this July!
SCD recently presented the 16th Annual Celebration of Dance! Through Celebration of Dance, dancers from all over Simcoe County come together to raise money local charities. This years event saw the participation from local dance organizations including Simcoe Contemporary Dancers, Elite Danceworks Company, Barrie School of Dance, InHarmony Dance and Wellness, Chelsea’s Dance PAC, St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School, Cairo’s BellyDance, Extreme Dance Connection , Nantyr Shores Secondary School, Innisdale Secondary School, KMH Dance Productions, The Dance Academy of Barrie, and Hamilton School of Irish Dance. These fantastic organizations, schools, and studios brought down the house and raised money to be donated to two local charities including Sweet Charity Medical Assistance Dogs!
